Libélula is a private rainforest sanctuary in the mountains of Costa Rica's Central Pacific, created for retreat leaders who want their group to feel fully held, with the freedom and privacy of an exclusive space.
When you hire Libélula, you hire all of it: the land, the spaces, our kitchen team, and the silence.
Rates are based on low season and full occupancy. Full venue-hire rates on request; pricing varies with group size and season.
The land sits at around 430 metres in pristine, biodiverse rainforest. Ten main waterfalls and natural swimming holes weave through the property, all fed by Libélula's own spring water. Jungle paths lead to quiet places to sit, swim, explore or simply be.
There is no traffic, no crowds, and very little noise. Just the river, the wind moving through the canopy and birdsong. Scarlet macaws and hummingbirds move through the trees, while vast, uninterrupted views open out across the rainforest and mountains.

Wood cabins are set into the forest: airy, private, built from natural materials, from $99 per person per night based on low season and full occupancy. The venue sleeps up to 16 guests and 8 team. Cleaning is included.

It includes the whole land, every space, your cabins, cleaning, and cooking by our kitchen team. Meals are quoted separately, based on your group's menu. Facilitation by our team is an add-on. The minimum stay is 3 nights.
Up to 16 guests, plus 8 team, in 8 wood cabins. The maloca holds 30, and the yoga shala 20 guests plus an instructor. It's exclusive use: one group at a time.
Yes. Cooking by our kitchen team is included. Meals are quoted separately, based on your group's menu. We plan the menu with you on your call.
It starts with a call with Kene or Maisie. You cover dates, group size and the shape of your programme, and leave knowing if this is it. Enquiries are open for 2027 dates.
To hold your dates, you pay 30% when you sign our agreement. The rest is due 60 days before you arrive.
It depends on how much notice you give us:
Your credit lasts 24 months from the day you cancel. If we cancel your booking, you get a full refund within 14 days. The details are in our terms.
Yes. Our on-site practitioners run therapies like massage, myofascial release and craniosacral therapy, and our excursions are guided. Prices on request, based on number of participants and season.
Yes. Ceremonies with plant medicine are held only by our team. Our team can also facilitate parts of your programme, as an add-on.
If your retreat includes plant medicine, every guest completes our Medical & Safety Screening and signs our retreat agreement, like on our own retreats. For a retreat without plant medicine, like yoga or a work gathering, what guests sign and the health questions are much simpler. We go through them with you on your call.
The spa house, with its sauna, jacuzzi and cold plunge, is ready from late 2026.
Fly into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO), near San José, Costa Rica. Libélula is about 90 minutes from San José by car, and 40 minutes from Jacó. We can arrange airport transfers for your group, at an extra cost. See exactly where we are on Google Maps.
