Libélula is open. Help build what comes next.

$50,000Two accessible cabinsSo guests with disabilities can stay here too
$100,000Solar powerClean energy for the whole center
$150,000Food from the landA garden that feeds guests and team
$222,000Homes for our local teamAnd a reception to welcome every guest

Your people can take part from $5, or enter a free draw with 54 prizes, including a retreat for two. Every contribution makes them founding members of Libélula, with a discount on every future stay, for life.

And while we build, we look after the land around it.

Helping the rainforest grow back.

Hands planting a young native tree in dark soil, with rainforest and a stream behind

“In Brazil, we drove for a day and a half through what was called the Amazon rainforest, and we didn’t see a single section of forest. It was pasture land on pasture land. It completely broke my heart. One day, I’d love almost everything we earn from Libélula to go back into protecting and restoring nature.”

Maisie

Today, most of our 46 hectares is still rainforest, and 30 of them will be protected. Part of the land was cleared before we arrived, so we’re planting native trees there to help the forest grow back. We’ve planted 300 so far.

What we give back

20% of our profitsTo environmental and community projects.
Nearly 3,000 menstrual cupsReusable, for Indigenous women and girls in Brazil.
Work for local familiesMore than 50 people from the area have worked with us here.
A free place on every retreatFrom 2027, for someone who couldn’t come otherwise. Guests who can give more make it possible.
Your people can be part of it, whatever they can give. From $22, they can plant a native tree where the forest is gone. Like everything through your link, it counts toward your sales.

How it works.

  1. 1

    You join

Fill in a short form and choose your link. You get it right away, with your own page to see what you earn. Maisie sends you your creator kit: ideas, photos and clips.

Tell us a little about you. If it’s a fit, Maisie sends you your own link and your creator kit: ideas, photos and clips.

  2. 2

    You share

2 or 3 stories with your link, in your own words, on set days of the campaign: your posting days. You choose 3 of them, or all 4.

  3. 3

You earn, and you’re part of Libélula

A share of every sale through your link. And something we care about even more: you become one of our founding creators, part of Libélula for life.

Your posting days.

A posting day is a day we ask you to share Libélula. Ideas, photos and clips for each one are in your creator kit. The words are yours.

On Instagram: 2 or 3 stories that day, with your link.
On YouTube, a podcast or a newsletter: talk about Libélula in what you publish that day, and add your link.

Maisie and I want Libélula to give back far beyond the people who come here, so 20% of our profits goes back out. We’re planting native trees where the forest was cleared before we arrived. We’re supporting the people from the area who are building this place with us. And we’re helping Indigenous families in Brazil build what their villages need, and they’re the ones who decide what that is.

We’d love you to be part of this. Kene

The yearly gathering.

Once a year, 10 to 12 creators come for a 5-day retreat with us in the Costa Rican rainforest. Living, making, eating, exploring and figuring things out together.

A note from Maisie

Being a creator can be a funny thing. You spend so much time making things, filming, editing and sharing little bits of your life online, but you don’t always get to share the experience with people who really understand it.

Kene and I have been talking for a while about bringing a small group of creators to Libélula once a year, for a few days. Somewhere we can all spend time together, get creative, share ideas, swim in the river, eat good food, explore the rainforest and sit around the fire in the evenings.

Libélula is our home in the mountains of Costa Rica. We have 46 hectares of rainforest here, with rivers, waterfalls, natural pools and so much wildlife. It’s a pretty special place to live, and I’d love to share it with people who are doing things we admire.

The idea of having you all here, creating together and getting to know each other beyond a screen, is something I’m genuinely so excited about. I really hope we get to share this magical little corner of the world with you!

Maisie

What happens there

Three creators talking over dinner under a thatched roof, one holding a small recorder
Make things togetherThe best ideas start as a conversation over dinner. A collab, a podcast, a series you film together, and it keeps going long after you fly home.
A creator films a friend laughing on the deck, the rainforest valley behind
Storytelling and cameraSmall, practical workshops on telling a story well, with honest feedback from people who do what you do.
Four creators around one laptop at a wooden table under a thatched roof, one explaining, a dog asleep underneath
We all have something to teachEveryone arrives knowing something the rest of us don’t. One of you is brilliant with light, someone else with sound, someone else with words. You show us, we all try it, and by dinner it’s been passed around the whole table.
A small group meditating on the open-air yoga deck over the rainforest
Inner workBreathwork, HeartMath and sound healing in the yoga shala, to gently look at what holds so many of us back: being seen, money, using our voice.
Bare feet walking along a soft earth path through the garden, a basket of bananas ahead
Back to the earthWalking barefoot through the gardens, picking fruit from the trees, following the trail down to the waterfall. Time to reconnect with the earth.
Friends at a natural pool below a waterfall in the rainforest, one jumping in, one floating
Don’t forget how to playSwimming in the natural pools, jumping in the river, laughing around the fire until late. You don’t need to post a thing while you’re here.

A day at the gathering

  1. MorningWaking up with the birdsBreathwork or movement in the yoga shala, then a slow breakfast from our kitchen.
  2. MiddayA workshopStorytelling, camera, sound, or whatever someone came to teach.
  3. AfternoonMake something, or exploreFilm together, or follow the trail down to the waterfall.
  4. EveningDinner, and the fireLong conversations, and the stars over the valley.

Every part is an invitation. Join what you like, and rest when you need to.

After a few days of living, cooking and swimming together, the masks come off, and people meet each other as they really are.

Kene and Maisie on a deck above the rainforest
Kene and Maisie, at Libélula

We left everything to build this.

We’re Kene and Maisie.

Kene had been dreaming of creating a retreat center for many years. After losing his dad to cancer, he became increasingly interested in health, nutrition and natural approaches to wellbeing.

Maisie had always been drawn to nature. During a difficult period in her life, she travelled alone to Costa Rica, and that trip stayed with her.

Costa Rica kept calling. In 2023, we went there together. We weren’t actually looking for a retreat center. We were looking for a holiday home. Then an estate agent asked Kene what his dream property would look like, and told us she had exactly that place.

For Kene, making it happen meant letting go of what he had built in England. Everything had to be sold to put it all into the dream. So we decided to trust, and make it happen.

We wanted to build the kind of place we had searched for ourselves, spiritually open but grounded, and held by people who understand the responsibility of being trusted with someone else’s vulnerability.

We feel more like guardians of this piece of rainforest than owners of it. Everything we’ve built so far has been in open spaces that already existed, without cutting down trees. We employ local people, and twenty percent of our profits goes towards charitable, environmental and community projects.

And we’re only just getting started.

One of the best retreats I have been to

What an experience. From the moment you set foot on the land you know this is a place where magic can happen.

Quick answers.

Do I say it’s paid?

Yes. Use the platform’s partnership label, and say it plainly: “I earn a commission if you book through my link.”

Who owns what I post?

You do.

What’s the extra week?

On the last day, we decide whether to open one more week on our website. If we do, it’s a surprise for everyone else, so keep it between us.

We’re looking for creators who feel something when they see this land.

And who’d love to help build something that will be here for generations.
